BSR Guidance

HSE at the Building Safety Regulator Conference

Some good guidance from the HSE at the Building Safety Regulator Conference regarding HRB safety cases:

1. The safety case is not a one time effort, it is an ongoing duty to manage building safety risks in your safety case, to manage the safety of occupants in your HRB.

2. You must have the ability to draw on the safety case to make a safety case report, when called forward by the BSR.

3. You may not have a HRB called forward (provide a safety case report to the BSR) for 5 years, but you have a duty now to ensure that you have a safety case that explains why all residents are safe in the HRB.

4. If an incident happens in your HRB now, your building safety case report is likely to be called forward by the BSR now.

5. The PAP and APs must be competent to assess and manage HRB risks, this must be documented in the safety case. If they are not, they must have support, as explained in the safety case.
